Hawaii to the Magellan Strait, Chile (stations 262 to 312)

From Hawaii the voyage led to the French Polynesia where the ship anchored at Tahiti for a few weeks before heading to Valparaiso, Chile. Here they stayed from 19 November 19 to 11 December 1875. They anchored and saw baron land, with herdsman and lassos to herd their cattle. An excursion was made to the summit of Uspallata Pass which is a pass between Chile and Argentina. When the men got back, the ship headed off to the Magellan Strait in Chile, to head to the Falkland Islands.
