Notes: The handwritten pencil inscription on a pre-printed "Challenger" Expedition" / "Pres. by Brit. Mus: Nov.99" label states "Trochus (Photimula) taeniata"/ "Falkland Isl. 5-10 ft". and the date "26.1.76". The pencil number"512" written in the top RH corner, refers to the entry in the Catalogue of the Conchological Collections in the Perth Museum, by Henry Coates, FSA, dated 1925. The specimen is recorded in the 1899 Museum Register (1899.54.20) as "No.4", a temporary number given for specimens without British Museum numbers.
