Notes: Eroded Pre-printed label in spirit states "Challenger" Expedition" and "Pres. by Brit. Mus: Nov.99." Handwritten pencil name in centre states "Lepas anatifera/Log of Wood. Atlantic. 2.4.73." The pencilled label number appears to state "38" and refers to the Accession register entry 1899, (Accession No: 1899.54.56); it should in fact read "39" as "38" is Lepas fasicularis in the record (Accession No: 1978.1712.287). Placed in a large jar of spirit with other non-"Challenger" specimens.
