Notes: The handwritten pencil inscription on a pre-printed "Challenger" Expedition"/"Pres. by Brit. Mus: Nov.99" label states "Martesia striata. L. 49fth"/ "Arafur sea.". The pencil number "1" refers to the entry in the 1899 Perth Museum Register, which records the date as "Sept.12.74". A green bordered adhesive label on the box face records in ink the number "1120" and "Chall. Exped./Martesia striata. Lin./Arafur Sea." The number "1120" refers to an entry in the Catalogue of the Conchological Collections in the Perth Museum, by Henry Coates, FSA, dated 1925.
