Description

Notes: One sea urchin specimen in a square glass jar, there is a black board where the specimen use to be attached to. The specimen is brown in colour and the spines are a light green colour. There is a brown piece of material tied around the base of the jar. Attached to the outside of the jar is a black label which the first quarter of the label has fallen off. Hand written in white inks is '"Sea Urchin" ?Goniocidaris lubaria, L?tk. OFF PORT PHILLIP. [Sta. 161] From trustees, Brit. Mus. "Challenger Coll"'. There is no liquid left in the jar and the specimen is completely dry. Some spines are broken and the whole specimen looks very delicate. The lid can freely come off and is only placed on the top of the jar.
