Sea cucumber (Laetmogone wyvillethomsoni)

Description

Synonyms: Laetnogone wyville-thomsoni

Notes: Two specimens mounted onto a black board. The specimens are elongate and the specimen on the right hand side of the board is longer than the specimen on the left hand side of the board. The specimens are off white/light grey in colour. The specimens have string-like appendages attached to it. The liquid has a slight yellowish tinge to it. Attached to the outside of the glass jar is a black label attached to a brown piece of material tied around the glass jar. Hand written in white ink on the label is 'Laetrnogone Wyville-Thomsoni, Theel. JUAN FERNANDEZ. [Sta. 300]'. Typed in black inl on an off white label on the bottom of the black label is 'From Trustees, Brit. Mus. "Challenger Coll"'. Hand written in pencil on an off white piece of paper inside the jar is 'Laetrnogone Wyville-Thomsoni?loc. Chall Coll'. The jar is about  full of liquid and is slightly yellow in colour. At the bottom of the jar there are a few bits of the specimen's which have been unattached from the main specimens. The black board moves inside the jar.
