Notes: Two loose labels accompany the molluscs. A pre-printed "Challenger" Expedition"/"Pres. by Brit. Mus: Nov.99" label with the handwritten pencil inscription - "Struthiolaria sp: P.Jackson. Sydney. 2-10 fts". The pencil number "709" above refers to an entry in the Catalogue of the Conchological Collections in the Perth Museum, by Henry Coates, FSA, dated 1925 (p.25: see also 1899.54.27). The second green bordered label, torn from a specimen box has the handwritten ink inscriptions "709", "Chal. Ex" and "Struthiolaria/ scutulata. Martyn/Port Jackson. Sydney/2-10 fths/Challenger Exped.". An entry in the 1899 Perth Museum Accession register, has this specimen listed as number 15; a temporary number given for specimens without British Museum numbers.
