The University of Leeds has at least three specimens from the HMS Challenger (1872-76) voyage in its teaching collections.

One, a manganese sample, is held in the School of Chemistry. The Other two form part of the biology teaching collections.
The University has a Museum of the History of Science, Technology and Medicine where it is possible that further specimens might be found.
